Hi Guys, this post is about an Indonesian restaurant in London that I recently visited. It is called Nusa Dua and is located at Shaftesbury Avenue in Chinatown/Leicester Square area.
My husband and I ordered a Set Lunch Menu. It is quite reasonable for the price. We both had Set Lunch B for Chicken Sate, Beef Rendang, Potato Dumpling and Egg Chilli Sauce.
Voila! It comes surprisingly big! My husband loves the chicken sate! He says Indonesian sate has a very distinctive peanut sauce which is superior to other satay such as the Malaysian or Thai satay.
I love the beef rendang sauce, although I could suggest the meat to be cooked more tender. I also love the perkedel or potato dumpling. May I suggest to include as well bakwan jagung or perkedel jagung which is also a distinctive Indonesian dish.
I also would like to suggest the kerupuk to be changed to an Indonesian style kerupuk such as the big kerupuk udang or emping, to make it more authentic.
The set menu is also served with soup, which again could be changed into a more authentic soup such as Sayur Asem or Sayur Lodeh.
My husband ordered Bintang ~ an Indonesian beer (which surprisingly is also sold in Morrisons ~ hint: try to find Bintang in Morrisons Colindale). I have an es teh manis or sweet ice tea. We did not order any dessert.
You can also order a la carte menu.
All in all, my husband and I enjoyed very much the Indonesian food at Nusa Dua. I would recommend everyone to try Indonesian dishes!
