Salieri Restaurant at the Strand London
This is the place for our anniversary lunch where the lunch is a present from my husband (Thanks Hubby!) It takes place at Salieri restaurant at the Strand in London.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated inside. With Italian theatre theme, probably from the Italian opera.
Can anyone tell me what is this beautiful wall picture about? Is this French or Italian?
They have set lunch and set dinner. We opted for set lunch and we added a couple of starters and desserts.
Here is the drinks menu. My husband chose a glass of Sangiovese and I chose a glass of Taittinger Brut Champagne.
Here are our starters:
For starter I chose Mediterranean fish soup and my husband chose truffle arancini balls. We also add a bowl of olives and a bruschetta.
I can tell you that my fish soup tasted amazing. And the bread that comes with it tasted superbly delicious!
For the main course, I chose fish and chips, and my husband chose Lasagne al Forno.
My fish and chips is yummy, the fish is fresh and chewy!
And for the desserts, I had a strawberry cheesecake and my husband had a tiramisu.
I love the cheesecake, it as a scoop of icre cream on top!
There are some Venetian masks on the wall of the restaurant.
More Venetian masks down the lower-ground.
I think there is a picture of Antonio Salieri near the bar. Could all this glorious decoration came from his Opera?
From where I sit, I can see Savoy hotel. This restaurant is literally just across the road from Savoy.
A great lunch experience, we may come back to Salieri.
