The Green Man, Denham

The Green Man in Denham

Last Saturday we went to a village pub in Denham. The name of the pub is The Green Man, in village road, Denham.

Denham is a charming small village in Buckinghamshire. The location itself is very close to Uxbridge.

There is a charming village church, St Mary’s.

Denham is a lovely village for walking. We saw some people walk around the village. Some with their dogs. There are quite a number of old houses. The Green Man pub itself, I believe, is an old inn. Perhaps the same age as St Mary’s Church.

We had a great and grande lunch. I had a fish and chips and I couldn’t believe the size of the haddock!

My husband had the Green Man burger. The size is also grande! He loves his real ales. So he got a rebellion IPA and a local ale called Henry, which the landlady told me it was originating from the old pub itself.

The size of their main course is definitely worth it. We can’t sample their desserts as we were so full. But I did have my favorite peppermint tea and my husband had his cappuccino.

As with current climate of coronavirus, we booked in advance via their website. I suggest to book in advance, as it is quite a popular pub. We were there on Saturday lunch time, and the pub was quickly filled up. The pub accept cash which we like. There is also hand sanitizer at the main entrance and at the toilet entrance and inside the toilet too.

We also see a beautiful pub called The Falcon, although we did not get in. There is also a pub called the swan (or the black swan?) but it was closed.

We had a wonderful time in Denham and would recommend anyone to visit The Green Man pub, or just pop in to Denham village.
