Porta Palatina

Turin is the capital of Piedmont region. One of the region with spectacular wines. Apart from wine, Turin also has archaeological remains. Particularly from the Romans.

This is Julius Caesar although this statue is a modern made, the gate behind him is not. That gate is Porta Palatina (the Palatine Gate) an ancient Roman gate created in the 1st century BC.

This fantastic Roman mosaic are located in the Turin archaeological museum, where you can also find splendid Roman theatre and Roman finds.

Antinous

This is Antinous, the boyfriend of Emperor Hadrian. The head is a real ancient Roman though the body is a modern copy. Look how beautiful Antinous is!

The hotel has delicious breakfast. But we do not recommend their dinner. Better eat somewhere else there are plenty Italian restaurants around.
