This was my first time going to a Militaria fair. I was quite pleased. My husband was very pleased too. The fair is called The Hertfordshire Militaria & Medal Fair. And the location is at the Rickmansworth School at the Scots Hill WD3 3AQ. The nearest tube station is Croxley Green.
There are about 40 stalls selling medals and military weapons too. So it is quite a speciality fair that focus on military and medals.
Some of the stalls offer quite a reasonable price. For example I saw one stall sells powder flasks for £45-£55. My husband opted for an Italian medal for £25.
I bought a World War I silver swagger stick for only £25. I think it is quite a bargain. Please see here for more details about the swagger stick.
The Fair is located in one halls of the School. It is not a very big fair, but it is a unique one, as it is specialised in military theme.
And there is also a stall for food and drinks. If you fancy a walk around Croxley Green, you can also find the nearest pubs: The Sportsman and The Artichoke. We opted to have drinks at the Sportsman pub – not far from the Fair location.
And not far from The Sportsman, we had a lovely lunch at The Artichoke.
A nice walk in Croxley Green, especially when it is sunny.
All in all, if you have a spree Sunday, why not pop into the Militaria & Medal Fair. Here is their next schedule.
