Antiquing in Milan
When in Milan, do not miss the once-a-month antiques market at the panoramic Naviglio Grande. The name of the market is simply Naviglio Grande antiques market as it is where the market is located. To get to the market is very easy, just use the Milan Metro Station line M2, and the stop is Porta Genova or P.Ta Genova FS. Follow the crowd when you are outside the station, it is so easy to find as you can’t miss the canal too!
There are approximately 250-300 stalls on both sides of the canal. The Naviglio Grande antiques market is held every last Sunday of the month. It is a great time to spend a Sunday in Milan. Where else can you enjoy Italian antiques in a Milanese style?
There are a few good quality of Italian silver. The price of the old argento from the Italian Kingdom era is a bit pricey. I saw a few Italian silver holy water font from the Kingdom era, but they are way out of my budget. Although for a later era of silver, the price is quite fair.
There are plenty of places to get lunch here. I certainly enjoy my Spaghetti Vongole alla Milanese by the Naviglio Grande!
The market is free! So you only need to pay for the transport to get here. It costs £1.50 for a single metro ticket. The Porto Genova stop is only about eight stops from the Milan Centrale. Perfetto!
I bought a nice Masonic seal at this market. Click here to find out more.
